Sierra Nevada in Raphael Type Colors.
Hi again folks,
here is the second half of the images I took last Sunday of the bloom going on up here in this lovely canyon in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.
Western Red Bush was all abloom and looking sultry in bright pinks.
You can see where the Pine Bark Beetle has killed many trees in the drought stricken California conifer forest with many pale orange trees in the watershed.
Pink colored Western Red Bush lined the Merced River.
This pretty flower was spotted sticking out above the other flowers and the only plant I could find
that looked like it was Swamp Onion which is more pink. Anybody out there know the name of this plant?
The Merced River meanders it's way West.
Some relics from another era rest in El Portal.

I found this cool creek off of Highway 140.

Sierra Nevada Mountains. Full Spring Bloom In El Portal, California
Hi Folks,
I am official a national park employee again this time in Yosemite National Park.
I moved in to my little studio apartment in El Portal last week and already put in 40 hours of work and had one day to take pictures. The weather report tells me that it is going to rain the next six or seven days, so I am glad I got outside as I can see the lighting and hear the thunder already and so I will continue to edit more images of that past sunny Sunday afternoon.
Here is some of that work.
I have a new second hand bicycle and new roads and views by the dozens to visit.
Lupines, California Poppies and other flowers are blooming in El Portal, CA
Highway 140 runs West to East along the Merced River from Mariposa up to Yosemite National Park's Southwest boarder. The road winds it's way up the river and has some absolutely lovely views the entire way. Forests of oak trees spaced apart near hilly Mariposa turn into densely packed pine
forests in the higher elevations around Yosemite. Wild flowers are bursting out everywhere.
I dedicate this post to my wife Lidice who I left back in Chile. I already miss her so much and listening to 10,000 Maniacs over and over again does me no good either. These flowers are for you Lidice, as you are the love of my life.
Along with the California Poppies were many other little flowers and if you folks bare with me
I will come up with their names shortly. Or you may comment with what you know about any of my flowers or rock formation imagery in my comment section. Please comment in any language as everybody can translate on my blog as well.
