This is the 18th of September festival time and is the equivalent to our forth of July complete with military parades, asados (barbques) and pageants for the children to dress up in traditional outfits and dance. I captured my wife's little nephew Rafael's dance event complete with dozens of crying babies, proud parents and colorful outfits for the kids. I also spent some time on my bike and focused on photographing some of the unique buildings here in Santiago and spent an afternoon in a park with my buddy Frederic and his two daughters. I hope you like the work.
My wife's three year old nephew Rafael has been staying with us at his grandparents apartment for a few days and has taken a shine to my camera. As he say's, "mi camera!"

Little Rafael had some tears in his eyes first time on the big stage. There will be more tears messing with girls lad.

These next series of images were taken on the street called Apoquindo and is the uptown section of Santiago with lots of yuppies and wealth.
Costanera Center is the tallest building in Latin America and stands 300 (980' feet) meters tall and has survived some pretty large earthquakes already.

These next few pictures are of my good buddy Frederic Klemmensen who is from Denmark and has been living in Chile since 1997 and working as a model. Freddie and I went to the local park to take some pictures of his daughter Kira and Rafaela. All three of them are rather 'camera hams' to say the least.

These next group of images were taken at the annual event where Rafael's pre school has their
traditional dance in historic outfits. The youngest of the dancers cries their way right off the stage and into their parents arms.
